The Laboratory of Exercise, Health and Human Performance was established in January 2005 after the initiative of the director of the Research Support Unit of Cyprus College Dr Antonis Theocharous and the Research Fellow Mr George Panayiotou.
The establishment of the Laboratory seeks to contribute to the promotion of athletic science and research in Cyprus via the systematic implementation of research projects and studies. To this aim, the Laboratory has contracted collaborations with renowned scholars and institutions from the spectrum of sports and health science in Cyprus and abroad, with the objective of the formation of a considerable network which aims to contribute in the implementation of high quality sports research.
The Laboratory lends particular importance in bridging the gap that exists between professional athletic practice and the research in sports via the conduction of seminars and congresses on current athletic issues.
The Laboratory comes under the Research Support Center of Cyprus College.
